It's So Good To Be Loved

I awoke to the rays of sunshine in my room this morning. As I lay there half awake, I wondered how something so big, so bright and so hot burned throughout the night. Then I realized that God put that big bright light in the sky and left it burning all night. What a wonderful warmth that filled my room, my heart and I feel loved. Oh what a incredible feeling to be loved.
I arose out of my bed and headed for the shower. Turning on the water I wondered... Where does all this water come from. The water I take for granted every morning when I shower. The water that cleanses my body and wakes me up. The water that fills my thirst when I drink. Oh what a wonderful gift, water. How I love water. Then I realize that God created the oceans and the weather that brings the water to me, the plants and the earth. When I think of God's greatness in his creations, I feel his gifts and love for me... and I think it's so good to be loved.

As I go through my day, I look around and see so many people. They look in my eyes and see something I could never communicate with words. In my eyes they see a gratefulness, a humbleness, an amazing love. In my eyes, they see God.

...I hope it inspires you. 😘😘😘“Only once in your life, I truly believe, you find someone who can completely turn your world around. You tell them things that you’ve never shared with another soul and they absorb everything you say and actually want to hear more. You share hopes for the future, dreams that will never come true, goals that were never achieved and the many disappointments life has thrown at you. When something wonderful happens, you can’t wait to tell them about it, knowing they will share in your excitement. They are not embarrassed to cry with you when you are hurting or laugh with you when you make a fool of yourself. Never do they hurt your feelings or make you feel like you are not good enough, but rather they build you up and show you the things about yourself that make you special and even beautiful. There is never any pressure, jealousy or competition but only a quiet calmness when they are around. You can be yourself and not worry about what they will think of you because they love you for who you are. The things that seem insignificant to most people such as a note, song or walk become invaluable treasures kept safe in your heart to cherish forever. Memories of your childhood come back and are so clear and vivid it’s like being young again. Colors seem brighter and more brilliant. Laughter seems part of daily life where before it was infrequent or didn’t exist at all. A phone call or two during the day helps to get you through a long day’s work and always brings a smile to your face. In their presence, there’s no need for continuous conversation, but you find you’re quite content in just having them nearby. Things that never interested you before become fascinating because you know they are important to this person who is so special to you. You think of this person on every occasion and in everything you do. Simple things bring them to mind like a pale blue sky, gentle wind or even a storm cloud on the horizon. You open your heart knowing that there’s a chance it may be broken one day and in opening your heart, you experience a love and joy that you never dreamed possible. You find that being vulnerable is the only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure that’s so real it scares you. You find strength in knowing you have a true friend and possibly a soul mate who will remain loyal to the end. Life seems completely different, exciting and worthwhile. Your only hope and security is in knowing that they are a part of your life.”

Martin Luther said it well: God does not love us because we are valuable; we are valuable because God loves us.It’s like a baby in the mother’s womb. It has eyes, but sees nothing. It has ears, but only hears muffled sounds and the mother’s heartbeat. It has legs, but goes nowhere apart from the body carrying it. Yet it has these things because it is getting ready to go to the brand new world. In this life, we go through dangers, toils and snares; but they are just to get us ready to go to a brand new world.

Over time, I've found giving God thanks help my mind from going to the gutter with those people that want me to join their pity party. Giving thanks to God keeps me from being pulled down. When they come around and I feel my mind going down that path, I simply put my focus back on God.
I'd like to tell you it was easy. That one day I just started. One day my mind never went there. It was a miracle! However, you already know that's not the case. Never that easy to change. It took practice. Days and days of practice. For so many years I had the habit of wanting to be with those people and practice the bad habit of thinking only about negative things and worry.
It took practice.
