“for they hadn’t understood about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened”.-Mark 6:52

The Lord put on my heart Mark 6:52 and Jeremiah 17:9, about our hearts..it can deceive us. The disciples harden their hearts after feeding of the multitudes..why? They got spooked seeing Jesus walking on the water, but no surprise when it came to the feeding of thousands. Our fear, doubt, unrest etc. can easily replace what Jesus has worked so hard to place into our hearts.  Sadly the disciples, as Mark describes them, did not understand about the bread. They failed to see in the feeding of the five thousand who Jesus is, and they fail again, now that he has saved them, to see who he is.

Jesus, gives us a deep metaphor with “Why are you talking about having no bread? Do you still not see or understand? Are your hearts hardened? Do you have eyes but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear? And don’t you remember? When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of pieces did you pick up?”“Twelve,” they replied. “And when I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many baskets full of pieces did you pick up?“They answered, “Seven.” He said to them, “Do you still not understand?”Mark 8 verse 15-21 How many times does Jesus get us through the same situation and we still doubt. The first of the month and the bills are due, and each month we still have an anxiety of how these bills will get payed?
