Acts 12:6..Peter was sleeping between two enemies...

Think about this verse for a minute, And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.-Acts 12:6. Peter had a covering of prayer over him with the church having a all night prayer meeting. Peter could have played the video in his mind, once he saw the situation unfold. Then fear, anxiety, hopelessness would have taken over him. Peter, had a deep sleep between two enemies were his life was at stake. Yet he was in peace with God spiritual guidance. James had just been put to death, and Peter had no reason to expect a better fate. And yet in this state he slept as quietly as if there had been no danger, and it was necessary that an angel had to wake him to make his escape. There is nothing that will give quiet rest and gentle sleep so certainly as a conscience free of noise and conflict. My two enemies has been chronic pain and deep depression, I've been playing the video in my mind...what am I going to do ? I'm not going to make it...etc. etc. as panic takes over. What I'm learning from Peter, is the waiting on God to come to that silent place were God can take control of our situation. I have to be like Peter!

The Good News said…
What I don't get is the church was praying all night for Peter, But Peter went to were they were praying for him, and he kept on knocking, and when they opened the door, they saw him and were amazed.-Acts 12:16. God gave the miracle of Peter's recuse..what they were praying for, but they told Rhoda, who answer the door..“You are out of your mind,” they told her. But when she kept insisting it was so, they said, “It is his angel.” -Acts 12:15. Why were they praying, if they didn't believe God's miracle?
