Why do we throw shade on God?

What is up with us? Why do we throw shade on God? When we get into some trouble..we run away from God or we treat God like a long-term relationship and after awhile we fall out of love with God.  When we get laid-off from work or get a bad report from the doctor we murmur about God, not coming through for us....so the bad seed starts to develop.  Was the bad seed planted, when you were molested sexually by that uncle or when you were thrown in jail, you were raped in the shower. Oh yeah... lets get real and peel back that onion.

Jesus peels back this onion in Luke 8:5-18 or Matthew chapter 13, talking in a parable about the seed being misplaced..some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture..some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.. And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold.

The heart of us is like the soil as the seed is God’s word; we are capable of receiving God's word, and bringing  fruits, but unless this seed is sown in our heart, it will bring forth nothing good. So the condition of the soil (our heart) has to be ready for the seed ( God's word)..as we can understand from Jesus's parable.

So the devil, will get into our condition(our heart)  to make the seed( God's word) not take. The devil will do all he can to make us forget the word, not to believe the word..with every distraction possible Luke 8:12.

”If God seems far away, guess who moved!” You may have gone on to other interests, but thankfully He hasn't lost interest in you. He, more than anyone else, remains there waiting for you as your faithful friend!

We are only what we are in the dark; all the rest is reputation. What God looks at is what we are in the dark—the imaginations of our minds; the thoughts of our heart; the habits of our bodies; these are the things that mark us in God’s sight.

It's scary to think that the better you get on the outside, the worse you might become on the inside. Behaving really well can easily make you proud of yourself, and we all know what God thinks about pride in our hearts: He resists it (1 Peter 5:5), and, in fact, a proud look makes the list of the seven things that are an abomination to Him (Proverbs 6:16-19). Being really good can make a “finger-pointer” out of you real fast. It’s amazing how easy it is for us to carry attitudes in our hearts that stink while we carry our Bible into church. So let’s not forget that while man might applaud us for what’s on the outside, God still looks at the heart! He knows all about that well-protected sin, that self-sufficient attitude, and those resentments we nurse. Like oranges that have been out of the fridge too long, you get no credit for looking good in the fruit bowl if there’s something rotten on the inside.
