Mark 8:15-21... “Be careful,” Jesus warned them!

I have been asking the Lord to open my mine and eyes to what he is speaking to the disciples in  Mark 8:15-21... “Be careful,” Jesus warned them. “Watch out for the yeast of the Pharisees and that of Herod.” They discussed this with one another and said, “It is because we have no bread.” Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked them: “Why are you talking about having no bread? Do you still not see or understand? Are your hearts hardened?  Do you have eyes but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear? And don’t you remember?  When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of pieces did you pick up?”“Twelve,” they replied. “And when I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many baskets full of pieces did you pick up?”They answered, “Seven.” He said to them, “Do you still not understand?”

At  this point of the trip, they had only one bread left, and for the disciples not to remember the provision of Jesus the two other times when there were no bread, sadden the Lord of how soon we forget the Lord's provision during our times of need. We would soon fall back to others that have a Pharisee mentality, that would add their own agenda to the purposes of God..what they would call cat-fishing ”- urban definition-A bottom feeder, a tag along, a person riding on the coat tails of someone to get where they are trying to go. A person looking for a free ride, the easy way out. In some cases a mooch. A person looking for a meal ticket, and a Liar.

When we feed into the yeast, it's a disbelief of Jesus power to supply us.

The Lord just gave me another perspective on Mark 8 verse 15-21. I away wonder why the Lord perform the same miracles with the feeding of the loaves of bread and the disciples reacted the same way.“Why are you talking about having no bread? Do you still not see or understand? Are your hearts hardened? Do you have eyes but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear? And don’t you remember? When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of pieces did you pick up?”“Twelve,” they replied. “And when I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many baskets full of pieces did you pick up?“They answered, “Seven.” He said to them, “Do you still not understand?”

At this point of the trip, they had only one bread left, and for the disciples not to remember the provision of Jesus the two other times when there were no bread, sadden the Lord of how soon we forget the Lord's provision during our times of need. Our human nature is that we wake up with a sermon in our head, that “ It's not enough!” instead of “Jesus is enough!”.....Before we start our day we allow doudt to talk us out of what we have to do..not enough money...I can't meet the deadline on time...how am I going to fix that? etc. In our weakness Jesus comes in to get it done. That's why Jesus was upset with the disciples, they couldn't understand, if we rely on our own will, somewhere down the line we will doubt our efforts.
