“Don't Touch!“- 2 Sam. 6:6-8

God has been dealing with me about His Glory, how fast our ego will take over were God has started a good work in our lives. In 2 Sam. 6:6-8, the oxen stumbled, so Uzzah reached out and grabbed the Ark of God. God was so angry with Uzzah, that He struck him hard because he had profaned the Ark. Uzzah died on the spot, right alongside the Ark.  The ark was in danger of being overthrown. Uzzah had laid hold of it, to save it from falling, we have reason to think, it was a very good intention, to preserve the reputation of the Ark and to prevent a bad situation. Yet this was his crime.

Why was God so severe with him? I believe God saw Uzzah's heart, and pride and ego took over, being a Levite, a Priest..   how bold he could be with the ark, having been so long acquainted with it.  With familiarity, like always, we  let our pride or ego take over were God had started a good thing..touching the Glory of God. Uzzah was singled out to be made an example, perhaps because he had been most forward in leading the way.

For me, God speaks to me that, He will let us know that He can and will secure His ark, and does not need any man’s sin to help Him to do it. In our ego, we forget how sinful we really are,  to the wicked God says,"What right have you to tell of My statutes And to take My covenant in your mouth?-Psalm 50:16
