“Did not our hearts burn within us?"

The Lord took me for a walk, just like the two disciples in Luke 24: 9, they never say which two disciples out of the eleven. But they were complex with what happen with Jesus crucifixion and now rumors of his resurrection. So.. they talked over these things, reasoning with themselves concerning the probabilities of Christ’s resurrection. The walk gave them time.  to talk of his death and resurrection; to improve one another’s knowledge, refresh one another’s memory, and stir up one another’s devout affections.

We could be drawn into a circumstance or situation that may put doubt in our hearts..that past due bill, or eviction notice, piling medical bills, a love one suddenly passing away. Just like those eleven disciples in the upper room, after Jesus' crucifixion...their world was literally turned upside down.

You are tried of being sick and tried.."How did I get here?" What the Lord really was speaking to me on our walk was Luke 24 :32. They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” Ever thing from being in His presents came flooding back to my heart. Just like when Jesus sat with the two to eat on the beach, his lips fed them. But still they had little thought that it was Jesus himself that was talking with them.

When Jesus, starts feeding you, you start to realize " Hey David..you have been do it without me, don't let your situation control you.." -said Jesus. Once the two disciples were fed, they  presently open their eyes, and then they saw who it was, and knew him well enough. They said one to another, Did not our hearts burn within us? “I am sure mine did,” said one; “And so did mine,” said the other, “I never was so affected with any discourse in all my life.”  When you know it's Jesus, His preaching is powerful, even when you don't know Him. He makes things very plain and clear to you; and, brings a divine heat with a divine light into our souls, putting our hearts into a glow, and  a kindled  holy fire of pious and devout affections in us. Hallelujah Jesus!

God is so amazing, I would read a verse 100 of times and it's not until I go through s something HE speaks directly to my heart. Mary Magdalene didn't recognize Jesus immediately outside the tomb until he called her by name (John 20:14-16). Perhaps she was more intent on finding his dead body ("Tell me where you have laid him and I will take him away") that his risen body escaped her recognition. Mourning, she also may have not looked Jesus in the face until he said her name, iland her eyes were full of tears in any event ( John 20:13). God spoke to me that we could be grieving a lose of a love one, or so full of anxiety with and illness that has taken us for another bad turn, etc. That we can't see or recognize JESUS in our trail. This also happen to the disciples, like the two disciples in Luke 24: 9, they never say which two disciples out of the eleven. In our quiet time, we must get rid of the noise in our head and see JESUS with us ...during a walk, sitting at the kitchen table, etc.
